Lead Level Designer - Battlefield Seattle Studio

 

Battlefield Seattle is focused on building rich, exciting stories with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio in the Seattle area composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. As we assemble our diverse team, all who have a voice in making great games together, we're looking for a healthy mixture of tempered veterans and young passionate individuals eager to make a difference.

 

Role Overview:

Responsibilities:

 

  • Reporting to the Design Director, you will lead a team of level designers, overseeing the creative and technical implementation of levels created both internal and with co-dev partners
  • Work with the Narrative Team and Creative Director to weave the narrative through the experience so players encounter memorable moments and characters with meaningful player engagement
  • Coordinate with leadership to set high-level direction on level design
  • Work with tools developers to build and iterate campaign tools and features that allow the team to create the best Levels possible
  • Coordinate with other team leads and producers to create content on schedule and to the highest standards of quality
  • Coordinate with the Designer Director and Lead Writer to make sure levels are meeting narrative and technical goals
  • Help with hiring, and onboarding a full level design team
  • Provide feedback and mentorship to the level design team
  • Oversee the development of content from creation through release
  • Work with the production team to set development priorities and the project schedule



Qualifications:

 

  • Multiple shipped AAA single player titles
  • 7+ years of professional experience in a leadership, directorship, or team management role on a AAA project
  • Prior level or narrative design experience in a shipped AAA project
  • Familiarity and understanding of the Battlefield franchise and core level mechanics
  • Experience with modern AAA games and their narrative mechanics
