Position Title: Software Engineer III

External Description:

The Challenge Ahead:

As a Software Engineer on the Frostbite Release team, you will be a member of the team reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of Software responsible for building a scalable and collaborative development environment, delivering the work of hundreds of engineers to customers. You will be part of a team building the culture, process, and tooling for delivering Frostbite at quality. We are looking for a generalist who can quickly familiarize themselves with, and works well with others, but knows when to stand firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering lead for building and improving the release process and management:
  • Manage and tracking changes for multiple releases and communicating progress against committed deliverables
  • Propose and implement changes throughout the release process
  • Release process automation
  • Help define new policies, improving process and culture to help to release Frostbite with better quality
  • Converge on solutions for a myriad of problems, You could change the build farm configuration because of a hardware related issue, and then move on to debugging a crash in a game level, followed up by working on a python script to automate release workflows.
  • Work with software engineers across multiple domains, understanding their needs to develop tooling in several areas such as automated monitoring, pre-test/pre-submission, automated failure analysis, and many other areas.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Strong Generalist with 6+ years of professional OOP experience (C++, C#, Python, Java, etc.)
  • Previous experiences in Release Engineer discipline or multiple Engineering disciplines in software development cycle

Bonus Qualification:

  • Production experience with game engines
  • Experience with Jenkins or other build management tools
  • Large-scale Integrations
  • Perforce and other SCMs
  • Database tool /Visualization plugin such as PowerBI
