Main Purpose of the Role

As an Associate Quality Designer (AQD) for the EA Compliance & Certification (EACC) team you will be responsible for ensuring your allocated projects are compliant with both 1st Party (e.g. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple) and EA’s own internal guidelines. To achieve this you will partner with our development studios to drive awareness of the requirements and participate in risk assessments. You will be responsible for both performing and managing testing for your assigned platform. As AQD you are also responsible for delivering defined testing procedures, delivering software testing expertise and answering queries from game teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain high level understanding of all EA Standards and 1st party requirements; monitor 1st party developer sites and other information sources to ensure EACC test cases employed comply.
  • Create, maintain and publish relevant 1st Party- and EA Standards documentation and best practices, as well as internal tools and processes within EA.
  • Conduct hands-on testing during the entire development cycle, perform test case regression-, verification, and assist in ad-hoc requests as needed for both software and documentation reviews. Testing execution is required for this role.
  • Consistently make use of EACC automation tech, support development of new features and proactively explore new automation opportunities.
  • Support coordinating and disseminating daily testing tasks within the test team and provide updates on testing progress.
  • Support and guide testers to ensure execution of project deliverables and act as testing escalation point when needed.
  • Review EACC concerns, consider the level of severity and publish/respond to issues where required.
  • Creation of verification test cycles based on available data, game/ feature design documentation, genre and platform expertise.
  • Work closely and build strong relationships with PLM Submissions on project delivery and best practices relating to platform.
  • Responsible for data integrity and ensure data driven solutions are used consistently. Strive for further efficiencies and success rate supported by available data.
  • Ensure timely delivery and integrity of test verification and submission data such as Escape Defect Analysis (EDA), First Party Concerns, maintenance of RBT systems, waiver requests etc.).
  • Participate in tester recruitment, training, coaching and support.
  • Define, oversee and maintain tester training program to ensure test excellence across all EACC test teams and locations.
  • Support Platform Leads overseeing and maintaining training programs to ensure test excellence across all EACC test teams and locations.

Special Considerations

EACC is a dynamic area where there are peak periods of activity and therefore the workload and the make-up of teams vary. Therefore, it is necessary that the incumbent has past-experience of working in a team environment of constant change. This also requires a flexible approach to working hours.

Experience and Knowledge:

Required:

  • 3+ years QA or Compliance & Certification experience.
  • In-depth understanding of EA Standards, and requirements and tools pertaining to at least one platform.
  • Strong understanding of the development process.
  • Strong working experience and collaboration with external and internal partners.
  • Capable of translating complex requirements in an easy to understand manner for development partners.

Desired:

  • Medium to advanced knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL and Power BI.
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of Scrum/ Agile Project Management methodology
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of Jira
