Position Title: Software Engineer I

External Description:

We enable EA teams to build better games faster by building a framework around metagame systems that allows for high reusability, rapid development, and scalability. We enable best-in-class data solutions to give groups at all levels visibility and insight into games’ performance and opportunities. 

To build this framework, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join an experienced team of developers. If you have interest in building services through modern techniques connecting multiple services together we want to hear from you. You will work with multiple developers to bring the next game services to life. 

You will become comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries.  You will have opportunities to learn from talented developers, hone your skills, and build a career in a global industry leader.

Responsibilities

    • Develop, launch and maintain high-traffic services for multi-platform AAA titles
    • Perform service load testing to identify and resolve bottlenecks
    • Follow best practices established by the engineering and DevOps team
    • Write technical documentation

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or other relevant experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data
  • Willingness to work with modern programming languages (eg, Go, Typescript)
  • Proven ability to assess a problem and provide solutions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Skills

  • Previous co-op placement experience
  • Personal projects highlighting technical expertise
  • Experience with client/server architecture
  • Knowledge of HTTP and how to design and interact with RESTful web services
  • Experience with source code management (Perforce, Git)
  • Experience with public Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with frameworks like React or Angular2+
  • Experience with C#, C++ or Java development
  • Experience shipping AAA games
  • Experience working with PlayStation and Xbox online systems
  • Experience developing iOS and/or Android apps
  • Experience with and/or exposure to micro-services
  • Experience with cloud native application development
  • Knowledge of gRPC, Protocol buffers and FlatBuffers
