External Description:

Sr. Manager, Content Strategy (Esports)

Electronic Arts Inc. is a global leader in interactive entertainment. We develop and deliver games, content and online services across platforms. We have a broad portfolio of brands that span the most popular genres. Esports has quickly established itself as one of the most popular forms of entertainment globally.

You will help grow a performance-driven content strategy to shape EA's global esports experience, breaking new ground to elevate audience engagement through storytelling across multiple channels. You will have a background in cultivating compelling digital content through extraordinary editorial sensibilities. You will report to the Head of Content Strategy for EA's esports.

What's in it for you? Glad you asked!

  • Support the creative and content strategies for Esports, including our multi-channel approach, VOD strategy and integration into existing franchise marketing/communication plans.
  • Conceptualize, present and collaborate across teams to launch new content series or initiatives that grow viewership and engagement with EA's esports brands.
  • Distill consumption metrics and trends into strategic and actionable measures, specifically leveraging data and insights to inform actions.
  • Generate detailed strategic briefs and other critical cross-functional documentation such as recaps and content performance evaluations.
  • Craft and maintain multi-platform content plans across EA's esports portfolio.
  • Lead real-time strategic decision-making during live esports events/broadcasts to optimize content performance.
  • Program key channels such as YouTube, supporting the execution of platform-appropriate copy and publishing requirements.
  • Operate across multiple teams and disciplines with clarity and collaboration, while inspiring a culture of curiosity and creativity.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in content strategy for sports or entertainment properties
  • A digital/social native. You're fascinated by and fluent in creative social platforms. You're comfortable with the latest social tools and you're invigorated by inventing new ways to communicate ideas through emerging creative tools.
  • Devoted to data. You sit at the intersection of art and science — the application point of data and creative. You understand the value of careful, objective analysis using data that reflects the behaviors of users and viewers. Your ideas and thinking are guided by empirical evidence, focusing on highest-impact opportunities.
  • Strategic storyteller. You're able to prioritize and sharply distill your insights to give our creative teams a strategic framework for execution. You can place yourself into the mindset of all players/viewers to unearth relevant insights and prioritize ideas.
  • Adaptable. You wield the innate resolve to initiate an informed strategy and drive it into fruition. You see change as an opportunity, not an inhibitor. As our games, timelines, players, and budgets evolve over the course of a project, you embrace how change can help progress our strategies.
  • Cross-team collaborator. You'll work with our production, media and marketing teams to understand key needs and derive how to best support them. This involves collecting input and feedback from partners, assisting in the creation of content plans and providing tactical thought-starters to creative teams.
  • You are keenly interested to learn about games across all genres, and eager to immerse yourself in unfamiliar subcultures and human behaviors. If there's an open question, you're relentless in the pursuit of the answer.
