Position Title: Art Director

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Designers and Product Managers to establish an artistic vision that fulfills the new project's goals and pillars, which may include partnering with existing teams and applying existing IPs or Brands.
  • Create character, prop, and background designs in multiple styles for early game concepts.
  • Create Requests for Proposal for deliverables and expectations to external art development partners around the world.
  • Manage a small team of internal artists.
  • Manage the art delivery pipeline, iterations, and feedback with external art teams, being the voice of the product vision and ensuring quality.
  • Work with Production to ensure delivery of quality assets to meet project milestones.
  • Bring your strategic artistic perspective to game design and technical discussions.
  • Direct the development of marketing art tests.
  • Be a translator between art and other departments.
  • Promote and build an inclusive work environment between internal and external teams.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years in mobile game development, including 3 years in a leadership role in an art department.
  • At least 3 years managing an external art outsourcing partnership.
  • Have shipped multiple hit mobile games from concept to live operations.
  • Experience with social and mobile gaming processes and requirements.
  • Experience developing games in Unity with working knowledge of asset implementation and best practices.
  • Comprehensive art skills and hands-on ability to support a small incubation team with quick placeholders and experimental assets.
  • Strong 2D skills. Comfort directing and reviewing 3D, UI, and animation.
  • Experience managing work with partners in different time zones.
  • Team-first mentality.
