Industrial Toys is a AAA mobile developer, founded by Halo veteran Alex Seropian. We have over 10 years of experience making shooters that are mobile first and take "Mobile to the Core". Industrial Toys is working on breaking new ground within FPS mobile gaming and pushing the boundaries of what players believe is possible by bringing an authentic Battlefield experience to your fingertips. As the Senior Game Designer (Economy), you will partner with other Designers, PM, and Analysts to re-define the Battlefield experience for a mobile audience. You will be responsible for designing the strategy of our economic systems and levers to be sustainable, scalable, engaging, and operable in a live environment. You will give recommendations on game balance tuning, progression, and merchandising to ensure that we are building, curating, and maintaining the right balance of fun, engagement, and business sustainability. You will use data, player feedback, and testing to adjust and operate our economy so ensure that Battlefield Mobile is a successful live service for years to come.

 

You are goal driven, data driven, and player driven in your design choices. You are comfortable with spreadsheets and modeling to inform the way that you tune, balance, and operate a game economy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and define the economic strategy and value of our virtual economies for their entire lifecycle, including deprecation, their interaction with our systems, and supporting needs
  • Track and analyze the economic and progression health of our game to ensure that we are meeting our systems, business, and experiential goals
  • Collaborate with PM and other designers to ensure that our economic and progression systems ecosystems are meeting our KPI goals
  • Use a data driven mindset to model, balance, and iterate on our economy based upon our business and experiential goals
  • Identify optimization opportunities to protect against inflation and the economic health of the game
  • Develop and manage our economy tools, spreadsheets, and documentation
  • Champion the business goals and player experience through economy design to drive a healthy F2P live service that will run for years to come
  • Make recommendations for our systems, features, and rewards based upon our game’s monetization, progression, and economic needs
  • Turning economic and progression analyses and goals into actionable recommendations and deliverables

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in live service for free-to-play mobile games (2+ years preferred). 3+ years experience in designing F2P economies and systems
  • Aptitude and ability to create and manage a complex economy with multiple currencies for players in different life cycles and spend propensity
  • You are a creative and adaptable problem solver with a collaborative mindset and ability to balance multiple goals within your system design
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google sheets for economic modeling. Experience with SQL and/or Python is preferred
  • You have familiarity with data visualization software such as Looker or Tableau
  • A degree in Game Design, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance preferred
  • Nice to have: Interest and/or in-depth knowledge of shooters, battle royale, and competitive multiplayer games
