Position Title: Sr Experience Designer

External Description:

BioWare creates games focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds. It operates primarily out of Edmonton (Alberta, CAN) and Austin (Texas, USA) creating some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles since 1995. The studio is working on future game experiences for the Mass Effect™ franchise, one of the highest rated video game series of all time, and the Dragon Age™ franchise, whose latest entry was the 2014 Game of the Year. We are also working on announced projects Star Wars™ The Old Republic™, a story-driven massively multiplayer online game, and Anthem™, a co-operative Action-RPG set in a new and mysterious world.

Responsibilities :

  • You will:
  • Have 5+ years of experience as an UX/UI Tech Designer
  • The ability to work and teach across multiple cross-functional product teams
  • Work with UI Artist's and UI Programmers to implement the approved design in game
  • Strong technical skills and logical problem solving
  • Experience with node-based / visual programming

Qualifications :

  • Develop in engine prototypes to evaluate usability
  • Layout of screens to follow existing standards
  • Implement basic animations and transitions
  • Hook up inputs and interactivity
  • Implement Final Art and Audio following UX Designs
  • Work with QV to verify feature comprehension and completion
  • Tune and refine assigned features with guidance
  • Help develop documentation & best practices for smaller scale features and systems
  • Develop small prototypes for select features & systems
  • Oversee small bits of logic and functionality
  • Technically skilled in a small area of the engine
