The Respawn Quality Verification (QV) team is looking for a QV tester to support the automation and technology projects through interpreting test results and maintaining hardware. We are looking for someone to maintain our automation hardware and contribute to the quality process by manual testing.
Tester Responsibilities
You will monitor the output of our automation system by using a web interface to read test statuses and respond to any errors in the hardware and escalating to an engineer. You will interpret game or system logs and be able to interpret context and detect errors. You will analyze "call stacks" or error logs and help submit bugs to the appropriate database. This tester will help us develop the automation service by testing features and providing feedback to developers on bugs or feature requests.
The automation tester will oversee our game consoles which includes activities such connecting, disconnecting, troubleshooting, updating firmware, moving boxes and packaging, and working with the I.T department for network issues, and hardware issues. The physical space around the game consoles is also a priority, maintaining clear aisles and walkways, sensible cable management, and tidiness of racks and shelving.
This role also requires manual testing and locating hardware specific bugs for multiple game titles. Writing reports of any bugs or issues discovered and creating accurate, useful documentation will be required. You will gather and also analyze performance data to determine the root of any performance drops. Additionally, this role may be asked to directly support the feature testing process to contribute to the quality of the game. You will be a part of a team-- which makes communication and teamwork a necessity.
As a great automation tester you are willing to learn, ask questions, experiment, and take risks. You are eager to improve and contribute to the quality of the development team. You are comfortable with new technology and exploring unfamiliar software and concepts. You have enthusiasm for computer hardware and game consoles, and have experience setting up PCs and installing network switches.
Excellent English language skills (both written and verbal) are necessary to document issues and report them to colleagues. IT competence, including the use of emails, excel, google documents, and slack are also required. Though not a requirement, some programming knowledge or experience is desirable as there will be lots of hands-on with prototype software and code.
