The Challenge Ahead

Tracktwenty is Electronic Arts mobile game studio based in the center of Helsinki. The studio is responsible for bringing SimCity BuildIt to tablet and mobile and the game has more than 200 million installs to date. As well as growing SimCity BuildIt, the studio's passionate team of programmers, artists, designers, marketers, and analysts are working to create the next big hit to come out of Finland for EA Mobile.

We are looking for a game designer to join the SimCity BuildIt team. You will work as a member of the game's design team, reporting to the project's creative director. Your responsibilities will be to work on the feature, content, and live service design.

This position fits game designers, who have a passion for the builder genre, content design, and game writing. You might look for your first job in the games industry or you already have experience in f2p game design. You care for players and want to be part of a team whose goal is to create extraordinary experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on game's design, balance, economy, and UX with the team
  • Design, configure and document new game features and content
  • Leverage data from various sources to iterate game's design and player experience
  • Concept and pitch new feature and content ideas

Requirements

  • Passion for playing and making games and an excellent understanding of what makes them fun
  • Experience in free-to-play mobile game design
  • Solid understanding of popular mobile games and the design mechanics that work well within them 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and data-driven design and development
  • Game industry experience in another discipline (programming, art, production, audio, etc.,)
