Capital Games is a mobile game studio located in Midtown Sacramento. We’re home to the Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, the most successful Star Wars mobile game ever released, charting as the #1 grossing game in over 35 countries, and one of the Top 40 grossing games in the entire world across Apple and Google.

We’re a close-knit group of gamers that’s passionate about the creation of genre-defining mobile RPGs, and the vibrant live services necessary to support them. Our team culture is helpful, quick, and collaborative. We take our work – but not ourselves – very seriously.

While walking the halls of our brand-new 31,000 sq ft studio, you’ll hear the cacophony of epic console competitions, lively debates, and the rattle of DICE thrown across a game board. Come join us for game nights, happy hours, weekend adventures, and a dog-friendly atmosphere. Oh, and to inspire the world to play!

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations in Capital Games’ titles: creating excellent player experiences through in-game events, sales, communications, and promotions. You should be passionate about representing the needs of players and providing a stable, engaging gameplay experience. Successful candidates will be detail-driven, with strong communication and organizational skills.

You will partner with an incredible team to turn data-driven conclusions into actual game content: collaborating directly with a wide variety of disciplines (including Game Design, Engineering, Art, Product Management, and Analytics) to delight our players at every turn. This role is a mix of Live Operations execution and broader planning and product management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, tasking, and execution of Sales, Events, and other live game content with partners in Art, Design, etc.
  • Develop operational plans for new features and initiatives
  • Actively maintain operational documentation and planning
  • Communicate emerging opportunities and needs to other stakeholders
  • Monitor performance metrics and surface action items to relevant stakeholders
  • Iterate on execution and balance to improve product performance
  • Coordinate messaging plans with Communications and Marketing teams
  • Propose and advocate for tool and feature improvements to improve efficiency and/or in-game result
  • Partner with other stakeholders in the development and testing of new sales strategies

Qualifications

  • Passion for creating and playing great freemium games
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Details-oriented and driven to pursue executional excellence
  • Experience with multivariate testing and a basic understanding of statistical best practices
  • Fluency with mobile F2P monetization practices, sales, and event types
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Able to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines.
  • Experience communicating both creative and technical feedback to diverse groups
  • Experience working with data in Sheets or Excel and in XML or JSON formats
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile/SCRUM-style development
  • Strong understanding of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes or another CRPG
    • Economies, character ability kits, features, squad synergies, the meta, etc.
    • Core loop and the downstream impact of new content and features
  • Self-motivated team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day
  • BS/BA degree; ideally in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience working on a Live Game, ideally in a Product or Analytics
