Motive QA (Montreal) is looking for a Quality Analyst to join an established team working on our upcoming Dead Space title in development.

We're looking for an experienced professional who understands the principles of level design and wants to improve how we build great experiences. Reporting to the QA Development Manager, you'll work cross-discipline with developers, partner teams, and within QA to literally rewrite the book on how we test our games here at Motive.

You'll ensure EA accomplishes its commitment to putting Players First, by working with our developers and partners to raise the bar on product quality. If that's you then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee testing of Levels including test plan creation, scheduling, and coverage analysis
  • Work in collaboration with our Level Designers to ensure the best possible player experiences
  • Develop working relationships with senior members of the development, production, and design teams by creating a higher quality player experience.
  • Encourage a data-driven culture in your area of focus.
  • Be the voice of experience. Analyze where we've been and bring those lessons to the table on where we are going.
  • Identify and escalate risks to project schedule or quality together with the management team
  • Collaborate and promote best practices across the franchise and share experience across multiple studios.
  • Report progress and status through regular communication with appropriate managers and other partners.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for games and a player-first mentality.
  • Knowledge of good level design principles and methodologies
  • 2+ years of applicable work experience working in an embedded, integrated product team.
  • Experience working in a live service development model (i.e., sprints, continuous development).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with game level testing
  • Experience with Game Design Engines (Unity, Unreal)
  • Background in scripting, programming, visual scripting.
  • Equivalent knowledge or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science)
  • In-depth knowledge of AAA software/game development, including both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Have successfully shipped a AAA title
