You will become a foundational part of a respectful and diverse team as a Senior Technical Animator, focusing on building a next-generation animation pipeline, to be the backbone for a bold AAA open world action RPG with an emphasis on procedural stories.

As a Senior Technical Animator you will report to the Technical Art Director while working closely with the game teams, to explore cutting edge techniques and new technologies to create and guide our procedural characters and stories. You will work together with the other technical directors to establish the processes and pipelines to help bring our next-generation characters to life.

Responsibilities:

  • You will research state-of-the-art technologies around real-time character animation systems, and in collaboration with the tools and pipeline teams, implementing these technologies.
  • Work with the Technical Directors to build the tools and pipeline around both run time animation systems and external character workflows.
  • You will contribute to all areas of the animation pipeline, including real-time animation systems, character setup and rigging.
  • Understand the needs of the character art and animation teams and work with them to support and evolve the character pipeline and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with game animation systems architecture.
  • Experience shipping a successful AAA title with a focus on Animation and Character pipelines.
  • Experience with run-time Animation graph techniques - State machines, Blend Trees, Blendspaces and Procedural Animation constructions.
  • Experience with keyframe animation and motion capture data, animation principles and body mechanics.
  • Comfortable writing tools and game code. (C++, C#, Python, or Blueprints).
