As a Software Engineer on our Operations team you'll help maintain our primary services and infrastructure that support all the major online services for Apex Legends. Help work with our designers and content creators to inspire creativity in the online space and achieve fantastic new opportunities for our players, and achieve rock solid performance. You'll get to solve hard technical problems and work on uniquely massive scaled infrastructure opportunities! You will report to the Technical Director.



Responsibilities

 

  • Build, improve, and maintain Apex Legend’s online infrastructure.
  • Work with designers and engineers to gather requirements and build microservices, while being a technical feature owner.
  • Help establish and maintain technical best practices.
  • Proactively identify issues and fix bugs.
  • Be a technical leader for Apex Legends and help drive process improvements and set high-quality standards.
  • Help grow and mentor a team of engineers of varying skill levels.

 

Requirements

 

  • Passion for making and playing games.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • 8+ years of programming experience in PHP/Lua or similar language
  • Experience operation/maintaining available web services
  • Experience building scalable, maintainable systems
  • Able to work well in a remote environment
  • Experience working with cloud services such as AWS
  • Prior NoSQL experience (Redis)

 

Nice to have

 

  • Experience with Linux command line
  • Experience with C++ UI systems: QT, Wx, GTK, ImGui etc.
  • Experience with Asset Pipelines
  • Experience with C#, Python or other scripting language
