We're hiring an experienced UX Writer to join the UX Design Discipline team and lead UX writing for FIFA player experience. You'll work closely with strong cross-functional teams of UX Designers, Visual Designers, Game Designers, Producers, and Engineers to improve the language across our design system and establish and share writing guidelines for the product area.

 

As a UX writer, you advocate for player experience, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful, and clear text that helps players enjoy the game. You help set the vision for UX writing and drive cohesive experience narratives across modes and touchpoints. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms. You regularly use empathy, logic, and data to inform content choices and recommendations that include the right words and sometimes complementary data and images. You know that writing for everyone is not about "dumbing things down." It's about being clear, useful, and considerate of the person on the receiving end of your message.

Your Responsibilities

  • 8 You'll be in charge of interface copy within the FIFA player experience;
  • Set the foundation and establish the process to the UX Writing at FIFA, build innovative and effective guidelines, best practices, and tools;
  • Collaborate with visual designers, engineers, product managers, product marketing, and many others to bring your creations to life
  • Shape (and scribe) user flows, interactions, messaging, and microcopy within product interfaces;
  • Communicate complex product features and benefits in ways that speak up to our users and help them understand and use our products;
  • Create strategic product narratives for a diverse audience;
  • Create, maintain, and implement FIFA's first Voice & Tone;
  • Create, maintain, and implement style guides and shared nomenclature across FIFA;
  • Write using best practices for inclusivity and accessibility (e.g., l10n, a11y) to reach users worldwide;
  • Information Architecture, Taxonomy Development
  • Mentor and educate cross-functional partners to ensure and nurture consistent writing within the product.
  • Change gears easily, working with different products and teams;

 

Your Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience;
  • A portfolio of UX-focused writing samples;
  • A passion for crafting products for a global audience: not just through translation but reimagining products so that they're effective amongst players around the globe;
  • The ability to strategically prioritize multiple projects and to decide where your efforts will have the most impact;
  • Experience partnering with UX Design, Visual Design, Research, Product Managers, Developers;
  • Experience writing for spoken interfaces or other writing that's meant to be spoken in apps, on the air, or on the stage;
  • Experience creating scalable content;
  • Experience shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Past experience developing Voice & Tone or being a contributor to developing one;
  • A degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Psychology, Design, Linguistics, HCI, or any area that emphasizes the analysis and use of language or narrative and systematic thinking;
