Position Title: Software Engineer II

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to fill an exciting role where you will help modernize game AI systems to improve gameplay and game validation for multiple platforms and multiple game engines using a variety of new machine learned AI and traditional AI approaches. Additionally, you will include the evaluation of proper machine learned techniques to apply to measuring and determining game health issues, such as, glitches, graphical or animation anomalies, audio issues and more. You will work on technical solutions that can be applied to multiple EA games and will work with multiple game team software engineers in graphics, animations, audio, and gameplay.

You will report to the Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement advanced machine learning techniques to provide game behavior measurement, validation, performance, and functionality improvements.
  • Work with tech art, graphics engineers, gameplay engineers and partners to understand advanced gameplay mechanics and testing processing for future products.
  • Evaluate game code and architecture and recommend improvements.
  • Implement graphical rendering anomaly detection systems.
  • Provide training and support for the systems that you implement.
  • Be a communications bridge between engineering and data science teams.
  • Remain flexible and perform a variety of tasks such as, scripting in and outside of game, in-game API creation, external tool creation, machine learning model prototyping, documentation and more.

Required Technical Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in graphics, gameplay, AI engineering, real-time embedded software, or related position
  • 5+ years experience with C++
  • Familiar with applied use of Machine Learning techniques for Computer Vision, Imitation/Reinforcement Learning, Audio Classification, and neural-network construction to solve problems
  • Familiar with game development.
  • Familiar with signal processing and implementation of signal processing algorithms
  • Familiar with multiple database platforms, application servers, and development environments
  • Familiar with real-time embedded software applications and run-time optimizations for performance improvements
