Adrenaline is the newly formed EA Mobile studio responsible for the development and live operations of FIFA Mobile. Role Overview

As System Designer, you will be driving all tuning and balancing decisions within FIFA Mobile. You have experience with all areas of design, including gameplay, systems, and economy. You can work with other designers to establish the inflow/outflow of currencies and rewards to maintain economic balance while ensuring that activities within the game are fun and compelling for our players. You are a team-oriented person who excels in an innovative environment and someone who enjoys working with talented people on outstanding products. Experience working with distributed or remote teams is a major benefit.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be the primary owner driving all game economy decisions:
    • Work to establish a balance of rewards within base content and limited-time events
    • Collaborate with other designers to balance event rewards/currencies
    • Establish the framework for controlled economic inflation over time
  • Coordinate with the external development team to maximize player engagement with all game features and time-limited content
  • Inspire and motivate the team to achieve high-quality work within the set constraints
  • Take feedback from external groups and break it down to understand the underlying motivations, and then drive solutions to problems and opportunities
  • Take a holistic approach to quality and delivery to ensure that our experiences and corresponding execution create the best possible game for our global audience
  • Investigate and analyze to validate ideas and opportunities
  • Champion design and design decisions to franchise leadership and executive partners
  • Demonstrate humility, admit mistakes, and role model a commitment to learn
  • Foster an inclusive environment and create a culture where everyone can thrive

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of game design experience with 2+ years experience in systems design specifically
  • Outstanding written, oral, and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of mobile game development, free-to-play business model, and how game economies are managed within a live game
  • Experience managing game economies and tuning for base game content with an understanding of how time-limited content is balanced to achieve desired results
  • Proven track record of developing or improving features and content for a game in live service
  • You are self-motivated, proactive, and able to oversee design areas from initial creation through to implementation
  • You are open to ideas, criticism and engaging in healthy design discussion
  • You can work closely with a large team through all phases of development.
  • Must love creating fun, compelling and engaging user experiences
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment, to thrive at an extremely fast pace, and to find creative ways to get things done
  • Experience with Sports games or character collector games is a plus
