What does the Frostbite team do?

We develop the Frostbite engine, EA's state of the art multi-platform game development engine. Working on Frostbite means bringing the engine to some of the most acclaimed franchises in the business such as Battlefield and FIFA. Frostbite uses its proprietary technical advantages to empower game creators to shape games and push the boundaries of what they can achieve.

Here at Frostbite, we are setting the bar high and have a team of great engineers to reach it so that EA Studios can ship the next amazing game. We are located across North America, Europe, and Australia.

What does a Program Manager do?

As a Program Manager, you will manage programs, projects, program increments, and releases spanning multiple teams and locations. You will work with the project managers on individual development teams to ensure that team capacity and projects are appropriately planned and staffed, and that dependencies and risks are being managed and customer value delivered. You will help create and manage development processes, including project and capacity planning, progress tracking, and team-wide collaboration and communication. You will keep the team, EA Studios, and the executive team updated and engaged with important projects.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

  • You will report to the Director of Program Management for Frostbite
  • Coordinate with engineering partners and product managers to prioritize projects
  • Determine the resource requirements to meet the program or project goals
  • Evaluate and resolve dependencies and risks and establish success criteria
  • Achieve customer value using Agile development in a distributed development environment
  • Manage development work, and communicate progress against committed deliverables
  • Know and manage the impact of unplanned change

Team and Process Management

  • Be a manager of a team of program managers, mentor and support their growth
  • Monitor workload and recognize extra effort
  • Lead departmental planning (i.e. resource, initiative, program increment, release planning)
  • Design and help implement process improvements across groups and advocate for the team.

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of project and program management experience in a high tech company
  • Experience in project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience with distributed development across multiple locations
  • Experience with resolving conflicts
  • Know how to get your message across at all organizational levels
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and certifications
