Game Designer
Location: SF Bay Area | Open to remote work in most US and Canadian locations
We're looking for a Game Designer to use quantitative and qualitative data to design and improve features for Disney Sorcerer's Arena! You can both drive business results and create fun experiences for users.
You'll most often be:
- Conceptualize, implement, and balance game content through proprietary tools
- Work with the Creative Director, Lead Game Designer, and Product Managers on game progression flow
- Script game content through popular languages (e.g. Lua, Python, TypeScript)
- Work (and collaborate) with other teams to develop content and features
Your ideal background would include:
- Serious passion for games and able to break down and explain their strengths and weaknesses
- Ability to receive and offer constructive feedback to iterate and improve upon content and features
- Minimum 3 years game industry experience, and multiple shipped titles
- Experience with role playing game mechanics within mobile or other free-to-play spaces
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Lua, Python, TypeScript)
- Experience with spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets)
- Strives for both excellence and efficiency
Bonus skills would include:
- Computer Science degree or equivalent professional (or hobbyist) experience
- Experience with collectible card games (e.g. Magic the Gathering, Hearthstone, Pokemon, etc.)
- Experience with multiplayer online battle arena games (e.g. League of Legends, Dota2, Arena of Valor, etc.)
- Experience with massively multiplayer online games (e.g. World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV, etc.)
- Experience working with licensed products
