Role Overview

As an Live Ops Manager you'll manage the day-to-day operations of Capital Games' titles: creating excellent player experiences through in-game events, sales, communications, and promotions. You should be passionate about representing the needs of players and providing a stable, engaging gameplay experience for everyone.

You'll partner directly with an incredible team to turn data-driven conclusions into actual game content: collaborating directly with a wide variety of disciplines (including Game Design, Engineering, Art, Product Management, and Analytics) to delight our players at every turn. You will be initially execution-focused, with the opportunity to grow into planning and broader product management responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the game's Event and Sales schedule in our toolsets
  • Manage the planning, tasking and execution of live game content with partners in Art, Design, etc.
  • Develop operational plans for new features and projects
  • Maintain operational documentation and planning
  • Communicate new opportunities and needs to other partners
  • Monitor performance metrics and surface action items to relevant team members
  • Refine execution and balance to improve product performance
  • Coordinate messaging plans with Communications and Marketing teams
  • Propose and advocate for tool and feature improvements to improve efficiency and in-game results
  • Partner with other team members in the development and testing of new sales strategies

Required Skills/Personal Requirements

  • Passion for creating and playing great freemium games
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and motivation to pursue executional excellence
  • Experience with multivariate testing and a basic understanding of statistical best practices
  • Fluency with mobile F2P monetization practices, sales, and event types
  • Experience communicating both creative and technical feedback to diverse groups
  • Experience working with data in Sheets or Excel and in XML or JSON formats
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile/SCRUM-style development
  • Strong understanding of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes or other CRPGs
  • Economies, character ability kits, features, squad synergies, the meta, etc.
  • Core loop and the downstream impact of new content and features

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree; ideally in a quantitative discipline
  • 1 year of experience working on a Live Game in a Product or Operational role (eg QA, CS, Community)
