The Challenge Ahead: 

We are seeking a Development Director who will be an integral part of our leadership team. You understand that development and operations are one entity, and that DevOps is all about making the business successful by delivering value to the customer faster and in a reliable way. You will manage project and resource planning, balance scope with capacity, track progress, implement and improve processes, mitigate risks, and manage the careers of your direct reports. You are a master of operations capabilities and strive to ensure that the Player experience is excellent. You know how to nurture a healthy team, and are able to inspire and motivate team members to do their best work consistently. You know how to build collaborative, high functioning relationships with development teams and central services partners. You are a force multiplier, a servant leader and influencer

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a variety of disciplines including other development directors, development managers, and DevOps engineers
  • Lead project planning sessions using your expertise in agile approaches and methodologies
  • Create and maintain project schedules, and play an important role in aligning with the development and central teams from one project phase to the next while ensuring quality, collaboration, and communication
  • Able to manage multiple projects
  • Ensure deadlines are met
  • Regular communication with the project team, project partners, and stakeholders
  • Assess and mitigate risks for areas of ownership
  • Be the point of escalation for conflict management, problem-solving, risk identification and developing mitigation strategies
  • Build and evolve an effective team; identify resourcing needs, provide challenges and developmental opportunities to ensure that all employees reach their potential

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of operations and leadership experience with strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge and influence a variety of stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of project operations acquired from a minimum of 5+ years experience in project management on AAA game franchises or similar software development projects.
  • Experience managing a large project with Agile project management principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and possesses strong emotional intelligence skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - able to work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
