Overview:

The EAX team is driving the strategy and implementation of important programs for EA’s community of players to connect them to one another and to the games they love to play. These programs span the digital touchpoints where players interact with the EA Network, including: EA’s gaming service on PC through Origin and the new EA Desktop application; the EA Play subscription program on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam; EA.com’s corporate, marketing and player engagement activations, and a host of other consumer experiences and strategies to connect players across platforms and within our games.

EAX is looking for a Technical Product Owner for its Data and Content Delivery (DCD) group. The Technical Product Owner will manage the backlog for the scrum team supporting internal content management tools and services for publishing games and webpages to EA.com, Origin, and EA Desktop for discovery, subscription, purchase, and play. The role of the Technical Product Owner is to clear the path for efficient content delivery by providing their scrum team with prioritized, well-articulated product requirements based on direction from the DCD Strategy team, and by gathering direct input from the users of their technology and their cross-functional partners to ensure quality solutions.

 

The role consists of:

  • Building broad and deep expertise on content and data across EA, the tools and services that manage and consume it, and the relationships and dependencies across them
  • Interpreting complex and ambiguous requests for content and data support, and recommending approaches to solve them
  • Translating guidance from leadership and strategy team into concrete projects and deliverables
  • Managing competing priorities and timing in order to deliver against the product backlog
  • Clarifying and documenting requestor requirements for development
  • Assessing requirements for feasibility and breaking down large requests into smaller units of work
  • Collaborating with engineers, design, and quality assurance teammates to ensure quality results
  • Reviewing and approving delivered work against defined requirements
  • Determining user satisfaction and proposing improvements to internal tools and services
  • Engaging with users and partners to promote and maintain productive working relationships

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Product or Program Manager or equivalent in a Scrum environment
  • Background in content management systems, publishing software, or data entry workflows
  • Strong technical writing skills, communicates well to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Organized, thorough, and attentive to detail

 

Desirable Experience

  • Work experience with large companies in the hi-tech, media, or entertainment sector
  • Background in digital operations, e-commerce, big data, or web publishing
  • Fluency with Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence) products
  • An interest in video games
