Electronic Arts Inc. is a leading global interactive entertainment software company. EA delivers games, content and online services for Internet-connected consoles, personal computers, mobile phones, and tablets.

EA Canada is seeking a Technical Director for our new platform team. This position involves working with artists, game programmers, and designers in leading the engineering efforts for our unannounced project. We're currently seeking a Technical Director with experience building great games while working with an ambitious team, and who fundamentally cares about a philosophy of building with purpose, fun, and design.


Responsibilities:

  • Defining technical roadmap for all technology on unannounced gamer
  • Auditing the technical quality of all major project milestones
  • Defining Configuration Management, Automation and Operational strategies in partnership with backend team
  • Identifying and mitigating all technical risks for the Mobile game team
  • Mentor junior engineers to develop timeframes, improve dependencies, and lead best practices in code review
  • Define variables, constraints, and outputs for technical and game design roadmaps in achieving innovative objectives with quality and speed
  • Partner with game designers, lived operations, and illustrators in creating fun game mechanics

Skills and experience

  • 10+ years leadership experience in the mobile gaming industry
  • Experience with defining and leading platform initiatives
  • Extensive experience with a breadth of programming languages and tools
  • Efficient time management and proven ability to estimate time needed for engineering task completion
  • Experience and curiosity in multiple areas of game development (e.g. UI, server technology, tools, etc.)
  • Constantly innovate how to improve product quality as well as group productivity
  • Ability to identify project risks
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • B.S. in Computer Science
