Development Director
The Development Director role in the Frameworks team is responsible for overseeing the successful and timely delivery of quarterly goals, on budget and to quality. The DD is responsible for all aspects of people and project management within their team and will be highly organized with outstanding communication skills, proven experience in production, and a track record of delivering high quality products to customers.  

 

What skills does EA look for?
The ideal candidate must exhibit a high level of integrity and be able to inspire and motivate the team, provide strong leadership and skillfully manage change while maintaining enthusiasm for the projects and work. They must demonstrate the ability to build and energize the team by exhibiting a positive approach that inspires others to excel. They must also be able to effectively delegate responsibility, as well as coach and lead.

The DD must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to recognize and balance priorities, and identify creative methods to deal with issues. We are looking for a quick learner who is able to apply new concepts, principles, and procedures to maintain a solution-oriented approach while dealing with any challenges that arise. 

The ideal candidate will also possess highly effective interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone who demonstrates excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak to team, project and department goals in a clear and concise manner. The DD must have strong project management experience, understand project management methodologies, and work comfortably with Excel, Project, Word, Visio and other project management tools.

The DD’s primary responsibilities include creating a schedule and resource plan, identifying dependencies and risks, and creating successful mitigation plans.  

 

Key responsibilities include:

Project Management:

  • Establish an overall project schedule based on the individual task estimates
  • Lead tools teams in project scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, setting appropriate priorities, task tracking, and problem solving
  • Monitor production progress against schedule and effectively communicate variances to key stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Ensure the team is following established processes and course correct when needed
  • Successfully partner with partner groups team members and leadership

People Management:

  • Provide inspiring leadership by proactively engaging with employees individually to monitor and prevent potential problems or concerns 
  • Create and maintain a creative, motivating environment and foster a culture of success
  • Reward and recognize performance and provide coaching on performance related issues 
  • Work with team members to develop and pursue a career action plan and identify potential growth opportunities 
  • Participate in employees performance evaluations 
  • Participate in the recruitment of new team members 

Leadership:

  • Able to collaborate with senior leadership to define expectations and strategy that bring together meaningful goals for the team
  • Able to lead the team in breaking down strategic goals into clear individual goals and processes
  • Provide input for departmental planning & strategy (i.e. resource planning, cost estimates etc.)
  • Facilitate process improvements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years Project Management experience
  • Ability to manage within a collaborative, distributed model (virtual team)
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Exhibited ability to coach and mentor employees at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, and manage multiple complex projects with various groups
  • Strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of an organization
