The Product Management Director will coordinate the Product Management function inside EA’s Sports Mobile group (also known as FUEL) and help take FIFA Mobile, Madden Mobile, NBA Live Mobile (as well as future IPs) to the next level. S/he will be tasked with working with each game team to “lean into free-to-play” by identifying opportunities and mitigating risks in our people (talent needs & capabilities), our products (strategies and execution) and processes (live ops and development).


The ideal candidate will be passionate about mobile, free-to-play games and can balance the needs of our customers and against the business goals. In addition to working closely with the individual game team PMs, this individual will partner with FUEL leadership, team Game Directors and Studio GMs, as well as central EA teams such as Global Analytics, Central PM, Demand Planning, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive FUEL’s 3-year term product strategy in partnership with FUEL, studio and game team leadership by possessing a deep understanding of the current state of the mobile, free-to-play market and where it is headed
  • Influence live ops, program design and feature roadmaps across all FUEL products by understanding KPIs of live events, features & overall product & giving critical feedback on a regular basis
  • Provide FUEL and Sports leadership with an objective, critical perspective on the programs and features in development, as well as the products as a whole to ensure the highest level of execution.
  • Mentor and enable Lead PMs, and help them become the next generation of product leaders at EA.
  • Understand player motivations & psychology to ensure a healthy balance between the art and science of making free-to-play games, particularly within the Product Management discipline
  • Work with Lead PMs to run weekly reviews of each product that includes performance to plan, economy overviews, feature performance, and program performance, as well as ad hoc analysis and deep dives
  • Lead conversations with the Paid Media and Finance / Demand Planning teams to develop financial forecasts and LTV projections.

 

Required Experience and Skills: 

  • Experience as Lead PM (or equivalent live operations role) in a single top 50 grossing title or multiple, smaller top grossing title.
  • Strong analytical skills; experience with A/B testing and statistics to create a culture of data driven product design,.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with experience preparing and presenting presentations to various stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate both creative and technical feedback to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Experience with structured, hypothesis-driven product improvements, rigorous metrics analysis, consumer insights and design experimentation
  • Strong in Excel, particularly ability to create models.
  • Passion for playing games and making games. Passionate about quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and projects.
  • Self-motivated team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day.
