About this Position

We are looking for a Sr.Game Designer who can design, spec, and deliver fresh takes on classic games, invent original game mechanics, and create new experiences for a casual audience on web and mobile while coaching other designers and reviewing the work of other creatives.  You may not know the exact rules to every game -- Canasta, Pinochle, Farkle, Pyramid, Bubble Shooter, etc --  but you have fond memories and personal experiences playing some favorites around the table with friends or family, and you’re experienced working on cross-discipline development teams to deliver them in software. You will report directly to the Product Director and have a high level of interaction with other leads and team members.

 What You Will Do 

• Partner with Product Owners to shape and implement the product’s long-term vision.
• Spearhead the design of new games and metagames.
• Author new content and review the work of others.
• Create fun and accessible systems that lead to high engagement.
• Collaborate across disciplines to create compelling, high-quality experiences.
• Create and maintain documentation of design solutions.
• Prioritize design solutions dynamically, based on product and team needs.
• Articulate design choices in terms of the player experience and motivations.
• Keep abreast of design trends.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of design experience, with shipped titles in casual/mobile.
• Experience with freemium/F2P design, including MTX and social features.
• Solid understanding of gameplay mechanics and systems.
• Strong affinity for the casual gaming audience.
• Ability to work effectively by yourself, while leading a small design team
• Evidence of work in an agile environment, negotiating live service deliverables.
• An organized and detail-oriented approach to design and authoring.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Readiness to work with a globally distributed development team
• Knowledge of the game industry, trends, competition, platforms, and market.
• A passion for crafting amazing casual games & experiences!
