The Challenge Ahead

Frostbite is our technology platform for diverse game franchises, being used by thousands of developers to craft experiences such FIFA, Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Need for Speed and Plant vs. Zombies Garden Warfare. To ensure our game makers create fantastic experiences, they need high-quality tools which evolves over the years. This is where Frostbite Quality Assurance comes in. 

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of a domain’s test strategy. As an Associate Quality Designer, you will be a driver of the quality process and become adept in testing the engine, alongside associated in-house or 3rd party tools. 

What a Quality Designer does at Frostbite

As a Quality Designer for the Frostbite Team, you will partner with Frostbite, EA Studios game teams, and Quality leadership to set, measure, and achieve quality targets. You will have a holistic view of the project, from how the product is developed and released, to how it is integrated and supported. You will analyse the product and methods of how the product is built, provide long-term strategies and short-term tactics to improve using data to validate the effectiveness of the approaches you implement.

Being a Quality Designer is about supporting the team and growing together. As part of an experienced diverse quality team, you will collaborate with Development Team partners to identify and drive workflow, process, automation improvement opportunities, and get to create creative or technical solutions to the problems in front of and ahead of you. Along with planning, coordination, and testing, you will track data metrics and measurements so that you can improve decisions, and measure the success of the choices we make. 

What is Frostbite QA looking for?

  • Experience working with defect tracking, test management and bug prevention strategies
  • Understanding of software development processes, continuous integration, build systems and related tools (Perforce, Visual Studio)
  • Experience with games, game engines, content and asset editors and Computer Graphics (3D Art, Lighting or VFX)
  • Familiarity with common automation approaches including testing frameworks, unit tests, and automated functional tests

Bonus points for:

  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Google Analytics
  • Understanding of programming concepts
