ROLE OVERVIEW

You will be to help build the next iteration of our quality reporting and workflow platform which uses a micro-service architecture using Angular, TypeScript, Docker, and C# on the back-end to support EA’s game teams in building high-quality games.

The Software Engineer is a member of the Development Technology & Services (DTS) team at Electronic Arts. The DTS Team build technology and tools that help our game teams to code better. Working as one team we are finding unique solutions, striving for ‘Quality by Design’ wherever possible. 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

  • 4+ years of technology industry experience, including 2+ years of experience developing client-server applications, web applications or services.
  • You will be split between front-end and back-end development, therefore experience developing with front-end web technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript framework(s) such as Angular, React, or VueJS are necessary .
  • On the back-end our team uses C# and the .NET Core framework but we’re looking for a developer with experience in one or more OO languages such as C#, Java, Python, Go, or Ruby.
  • Knowledge of the web service environment. E.g. HTTP, REST, micro-service architectures, security, and scalability.
  • You write tests for your code to keep the quality bar high.
  • You have a genuine interest in keeping up with technical trends in the software industry and applying this knowledge.
  • We work in an environment that sometimes needs to pivot and adapt to the changing needs of game teams.

  • Experience with Video Game development.
  • Experience with functional programming.
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Experience working with teams that are distributed across multiple different geographic regions.
