We are looking for a versatile and experienced communications leader to join our Global Communications team at Electronic Arts.  In this role, you will work closely with our senior leaders, developing and driving communications strategies that tell the story of EA’s business, our key initiatives, and our culture to a global community of players, employees, media and investors. You will play a key role working with business leaders and partners around the company to weave our vision, values, and thought leadership into a compelling, multi-channel communications platform to reach across traditional media, social media, and other channels.   This role is a key leader in our global team, requiring a seasoned expert in enterprise communications, issues and crisis management, media relations, narrative-building and partnership with teams around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Company Narrative – Key partner in building and evolving our narrative in support of EA’s business priorities. Oversee the creation of multi-channel communications strategies and materials for announcements and initiatives, and driving end-to-end global execution.
  • Media Relations – Lead media executions, including working with senior leaders and partner teams to define messaging and drive coverage in business, technology, and industry media. Build, strengthen and maintain relationships with key reporters and contacts. Advise internal partners on media relations strategies.
  • Communications Strategy – Continually refine and drive the overall communications strategy and agenda for the company as part of the senior Global Communications team.  Partner with key leaders across the company to define and drive communications strategies for various corporate needs and initiatives.
  • Global Alignment – Help to ensure consistency of global EA messaging across all external and internal communication, partnering with business partners across geographies and divisions.
  • Issues Management – Support the company’s strategy and response through issues management planning and crisis communications. Work across teams to proactively plan for and mitigate impact of issues at a product and enterprise level.
  • Team Management – Responsible for ongoing management and mentoring of a corporate communications team within Global Communications, including goal-setting, career pathing, training and development.

 

Experience and Skills

  • 10 - 12 years of experience, with proven track record in PR/corporate communications, including direct experience working with a variety of media, such as print, broadcast, digital.
  • Passion for gaming, building player connections, and having fun.
  • Expert skills in communications, media relations, writing, message development and reputation management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with C-level executives inclusive of message development for top leaders and expertise in influencing and advising executives on communication strategies.
  • Maintains existing relationships in business, technology, consumer and/or gaming media outlets and writers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with very strong organizational and management agility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while prioritizing high-return work.
  • Ability to effectively manage high-pressure crisis situations, and work in situations of ambiguity to define a clear path.
  • Ability to weave multiple communications programs into a cohesive brand story.
  • Understanding of domestic and international media markets.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong people manager with demonstrated experience leading, motivating and mentoring a team and working collaboratively with colleagues and peers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field is preferred.
