Position Title: Game Design Director

Motive Montréal est à la recherche d’un directeur narratif pour une nouvelle PI captivante à dévoiler prochainement. Le directeur narratif joue un rôle essentiel dans la création d’un contenu narratif uniforme pour l’univers du jeu. Il collaborera directement avec l'équipe de direction créative et l’équipe de scénaristes à la conception, à la réalisation et à la révision d’un contenu narratif de qualité.

  • Autres responsabilités du candidat :
  • Élaborer et définir une logique narrative cohérente pour l'histoire du monde et des personnages principaux qui l'habitent.
  • Développer un scenario PRINCIPAL qui lie les intrigues au MONDE et aux QUÊTES.
  • S’assurer que les objectifs narratifs soient cohérents et en lien avec les objectifs de gameplay.
  • Diriger et communiquer sur la direction narrative au sein de l'équipe.
  • Innover sur les mécaniques narratives qui supportent l’évolution d'un jeu une fois lancé.  
  • Diriger l’équipe de scénaristes interne/externe
  • Diriger un "writer's room"
  • Diriger les sessions de "casting", d’enregistrement et de capture de mouvements
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe de conception de jeu et des niveaux pour créer un monde cohérent

Qualifications :

  • Au moins 7 ans d’expérience de conception de narration dans l’industrie du jeu vidéo
  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience de scénarisation : raconter des histoires, rédiger des scripts et des dialogues, trouver la voix des personnages
  • Expérience à titre de directeur narratif pour un jeu AAA
  • Expérience de soutien d’une équipe de scénaristes ou de concepteurs à titre de mentor ou de pair
  • Responsabilité de la qualité, de la cohérence et de la cohésion au sein d’une équipe de scénaristes
  • Compréhension des défis relatifs à la création de contenu narratif pour un jeu monde ouvert
  • Capacité démontrée à collaborer avec les autres départements afin de soutenir leurs besoins et d’anticiper ceux de l’équipe de rédaction
  • Contribuer à la construction de la culture de l’équipe en partageant de votre expérience et votre passion pour la narration
  • Baccalauréat ou expérience professionnelle ou formation équivalente

Motive Montreal is seeking a Narrative director for an exciting, unannounced new IP. The Narrative Director is instrumental in creating a consistent narrative for the universe of our game. They will collaborate directly with the creative leadership and the Story team to conceptualize, edit, and deliver rich story-driven content.

Additionally, they will be responsible of:

  • Develop a consistent background story for our world and the main characters that populate it
  • Develop the MAIN storyline, WORLD storylines and QUEST storylines.
  • Unify narrative goals with gameplay objectives
  • Continually communicate the story direction and how it unfolds across all story channels
  • Pioneer new ways to deliver meaningful stories in a live service game
  • Provide direction and feedback to an internal/external writer team
  • Run a writers room
  • Lead casting, recording and mocap sessions
  • Collaborate with Level and Game design to create a coherent world

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of narrative design experience in the video game industry
  • 5+ years writing experience: telling stories, writing scripts and dialogue, finding character voice.
  • Previous experience as a narrative director on a AAA game
  • Experience supporting a team of writers and/or designers as a mentor or peer.
  • Being responsible for quality, consistency, and coherency across a team of writers.
  • Understanding the challenges of creating narrative content for an open world experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments to support their needs and anticipate the needs of the writing team.
  • Bringing your experience and passion for narrative to help shape the culture of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience and training.
