External Description:

Machine Learning Research Engineer - SEED Stockholm

SEED is a pioneering group within Electronic Arts, combining creativity with applied research. We explore, build and help establish the future of interactive entertainment.

Our mission is to achieve and foster innovation for our games and our players. We do this through research, prototypes, exploration, and never-ending curiosity. We exist to educate, share, and be great partners. We collaborate with game teams and industry partners, and also publish and present our research within our industry and to the public. We pursue long-term applied research viewed through a 10X lens, and are impactful by presenting and delivering progressive products to game teams and technology groups inside EA.

A major change in the way games are made comes from the ever increasing power of deep learning and modern AI. Our deep learning research team works on the future of animation, self-learning AI agents, avatar creation, and using machine learning for testing games. As Machine Learning Research Engineer working in the deep learning team we hope you think that games are exciting and that you have a passion for AI:

  • Is your favorite web site arXiv.org and do you read NIPS and ICLR papers with your breakfast?
  • Do you spend evenings implementing deep neural nets in TensorFlow or PyTorch?
  • Do you ponder how to shape the rewards for your self-learning game playing agents?
  • Are General Adversarial Networks really the greatest thing since sliced bread?

We think that you are an open and curious person who is passionate to learn and teach. You get a kick out of transforming creative ideas from research papers into implementations, evaluating and experimenting with them, adapting them to use cases for gaming. As this is a fairly small team, we expect you to inspire your team members with your ideas, and to work hands-on in our projects.

We collaborate with EA's outstanding teams. We also encourage you to share your work through publishing, contributing to open source, and speaking at conferences.
