Position Overview

The Community Activation Team connects with the voices of EA’s 300+ million players playing our roster global games. The team’s mission is to build healthy communities via authentic experiences designed to engage, inform, and empower to create and ignite social advocacy at scale.

 

The Director of Social Engagement plays a key role in the transition from Marketing Communications Strategy into Social Channel Engagement via assets and creative voice for some of the best gaming brands in the world, including FIFA, Madden, Battlefield and The Sims. Informed by the Marketing Communications Strategy and Activation plans, the Director of Social Channel Engagement will lead a team focused on real-time player engagement strategy and execution, building connections to EA’s social community through two-way communication that creates mass awareness and interest.

The Director of Social Channel Engagement will lead the development of social communication plans for external franchise channels, partnering with internal and external creative teams to brief and manage asset development and craft creative copy aligned with EA and specific franchise brand voices. The Director of Social Engagement manages franchise teams that are responsible for the social channel calendar and will guide teams to coordinate briefs, assignments, schedules and assets for distribution. As part of this process, is a reviewer of proposed real-time content activation and provides detailed feedback prior to production and distribution. This role is also responsible for maintaining the quality and performance of franchise social channels. This role reports into the Sr. Director of Global Community Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Thoughtfully build real-time engagement strategies, new ways to engage in partnership with social platforms
  • Build a holistic strategy to amplify brand consideration and buzz and build dialog with EA’s player
  • Monitor Social platform and cultural trends to grow EA’s social real-time engagement standards and practices
  • Assigns requirements and drives content briefs for social channels
  • Reviews and provides feedback during content pre-production
  • Oversees the social calendar
  • Regularly audits EA social channels to address inconsistencies
  • Closely aligns with Marcom Strategists and Activation Leads on the execution of the Marketing Communications Activation Plan on social channels
  • Lead the co-development of mass amounts of content, including collaborating and inspiring creative production teams
  • Analyze, measure and report social engagement metrics and be an internal advocate and champion of the function.
  • Consistently educate and guide a team and rest of the organization on real-time engagement trends, opportunities and best practices
  • Lead real-time engagement key strategic partners and agency relationships to deliver results
  • Extend people leadership to direct team and across Marketing Communications org
  • Passionately articulate vision, social channel performance and trending opportunities to VP, SVP and CMO
  • Excite and rally Marketing Communications department and broader teams around Social Channels and real-time engagement strategy


Minimum Qualifications At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years' experience both in social content and channel strategy and execution with deep expertise in social content
