Software Engineer 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Development and Release Engineering (DRE), are EA’s global automation specialists. We are a team of more than 100 staff based in eight EA studios in North America and Europe. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers, who are the company’s game, engine, and content teams. DRE serves its customers through build automation, configuration management, continuous integration, and ensuring automation is running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
Work as a technical liaison with development teams to address build issues and improvements
Implement and maintain automation pipelines in our CI system
Work with our internal customer on designing, prototyping and implementing new automated workflows
Monitor automation systems and proactively respond to breakages
Monitor and analyze metrics to optimize automation systems
Manage virtual infrastructure, including deploying and monitoring VMs/Containers
Maintain the product backlog including tasks and their priorities

Desired Skills:
Degree in Computer Science or related field
Software development experience
Experience with administrating, creating and maintaining automation jobs in CI systems (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Experience with OO languages (e.g. C++, Java)
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Powershell, Batch)
Experience with source-control administration (e.g. Perforce, Git)
High standards of work and desire to meet and exceed expectations
Strong teamwork skills, but also the ability to take ownership and work independently
Excellent verbal and electronic communication skills (e-mail, Slack, etc.)
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent understanding of software engineering concepts, debugging processes and procedures
Excellent documentation skills

Nice to Have:
Experience deploying and maintaining virtual environment (e.g. Virtual Machines)
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. ZABBIX)
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Puppet)
Experience with secrets management tools (e.g. Hashicorp Vault)
Experience with artifact management tools (e.g. JFrog Artifactory)
Experience with container orchestration and microservice management tools (e.g Docker, Kubernetes)
