Position Title: Demand Planner

External Description:

The local Demand Planner is the driver behind the successful integration of the Demand Plan into the broad business processes of one or more Business Units. This position has responsibility for ensuring that high quality forecasts (Units and Prices at the lowest level of grain) are created by leveraging the best available cross-functional inputs and applying judgment based on knowledge of the business and robust cross-functional discussions. The LDP is accountable for the local S&OP process and make sure it properly feeds into the IPO S&OP process; he acts as a liaison to several senior managers in Sales, Marketing, and Finance to help them understand the forecast and its implications/risks/opportunities. Forecast accuracy is the main measure of his performance.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Forecasting:

  • Develop and deliver accurate, high quality Sell Through / Sell In / Subscription forecasts (Units and Prices) for all assigned products (SKU’s) at the Business Unit (Market) level within the Annual/Monthly/Weekly Demand Planning cycles
  • Build and coordinate local forecasting processes in synch with the IPO Demand Planning process
  • Hit weekly and monthly deadlines of the IPO Demand Planning process
  • Develop and interpret cross-functional inputs for the Demand Forecast with particular attention to Market Data, Player Metrics and Competitor Analysis
  • Solicit and facilitate cross-functional discussion to improve forecast accuracy around key forecast inputs (in particular determination of the Sell Through profile, the week 1 Sell Through expectation, the DD/PG split, the Edition split…)
  • Lead the Local Demand Review (that takes place before the Forecast lock) and drive the local team to a consensus forecast
  • Own the final Demand Forecast (ST/SI Units and Prices) that will drive revenue projections, supply chain operations, localization decisions, server capacity sizing
  • Set Local Demand Forecast accuracy objectives, and manage the organization to meet or exceed those objectives
  • Define and build the key metrics, analysis, trends and market info necessary for efficient forecasting
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and business acumen in the development of forecasts
  • Manage product life cycles and make recommendations accordingly
  • Be able to work as part of the virtual IPO Demand Planning Team

 

Leadership:

  • Manage the Consensus Forecast process, including process reviews and upgrades
  • Ensure active participation from all required functional teams and a clear issue resolution process
  • Be the liaison to local Exec Management on forecast, process questions and issues
  • Successfully integrate Demand Planning into the Local Sales & Operations Planning processes and into the IPO Demand&Supply Planning processes
  • Support and drive the agenda for Vision implementation: work with the Vision analysts to push and drive for daily data feeds into Vision and understand the data integrity
  • Initiate, lead, and manage projects as required to further EA’s strategies and objectives

 

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master Degree preferred) plus 3+ years of Demand Planning in FMCG environment
  • Strong general knowledge of the game/entertainment/software industry – Hands on Gaming experience a must
  • General knowledge of business forecasting processes in Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and field organizations. International experience is necessary
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of New Product Introduction, Life Cycle Management and Event driven promotional management
  • Knowledge of forecasting/demand planning software, Demantra preferred
  • Knowledge of reporting tools, Hyperion Planning (Essbase) and Tableau preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to effectively interact with cross-functional senior and executive management
