Development Director - DRE

DRE are EA’s continuous integration and build experts. We are a team of over 100, located in EA studios across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We pride ourselves on providing superior automation services to our internal development partners - EA's game, engine, product, and content teams.

We are seeking a passionate leader to join our team at EA Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities

Team Engagement

  • Manage a team of Software / DevOps Engineers
  • Provide team with clear performance expectations, regular feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Hire great talent for the team

Business Relationship Management

  • Ensure the team delivers stable and reliable automation systems to our internals dev partners
  • Build strong relationships with our business partners (finance, HR, recruiting, etc.)
  • Define and deliver on key metrics related to project and team objectives

Leadership

  • Collaborate with other DRE leaders around the globe
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of DRE
  • Drive the execution of key strategic initiatives across the team

Ideal Candidate Characteristics

Our ideal candidate has prior experience as a manager in software development or operations. They have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities, possess a high business acumen, and can also bring exciting new talents and ideas to the table.

  • Experience managing software engineers
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Project or Agile Service management experience
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams
  • Ability to bring a new perspective from prior experience in a discipline such as analytics, communications or technical program management
