Role Overview

Basic Function

Finance plays a pivotal role managing the company’s financial performance.  The Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is responsible for the coordination, consolidation, reporting and analysis of EA’s overall forecast process.  The Corporate FP&A team partners with executive management and business (studio / publishing / other) finance teams to consolidate and analyze results, while driving standardization and performance across the organization. The Corporate FP&A team is also supporting recurring activities, such as Earnings and Board of Directors reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • General (Communications / Coordination / People Oversight)
    • Oversee FP&A wide communications, including forecast calendar, guidelines and other recurring communications.
    • Support our annual Plan and recurring forecast submission process. Provide our global finance partners with clear instruction to ensure timely and accurate forecasts are achieved.
    • Develop effective business relationships throughout the greater finance organization (FP&A, Accounting, etc.) in order to successfully collaborate and deliver key deliverables, including recurring management reporting etc.
    • Direct supervision of on-site Sr. Analyst(s). Assist in the oversight and development of dotted-line off-shore support (Hyderabad, India).
  • Forecast, Reporting & Analysis
    • Partner with various members of Business FP&A to facilitate P&L, capital, and resource forecast submissions.
    • Drive forecast & reporting improvements that deliver improved forecast accuracy, visibility and / or efficiencies. Partner with our financial systems team to deliver key systems based improvements and initiatives.
    • Review systematized forecast submissions for completeness and accuracy. Between official forecast submissions, facilitate our recurring Outlook, Risks & Opportunities process to equip management and key decision makers with pertinent financial information.
    • Oversee the production of month-end close and forecast reporting packages. Collaborate with finance partners to understand key variances, and provide insightful analysis that identifies areas of opportunity and risk.
    • Manage Total Company balance sheet and cash flow forecasting. Consult with Treasury and Accounting to forecast key metrics including on / off shore cash, OCF & FCF.
    • Partner with Management to develop Total company guidance.
    • Prepare ad hoc analysis and participate and / or lead projects, as assigned.

 Technical Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Finance / Economics / Accounting related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of related financial experience.
  • Strong command of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow.
  • Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with executive-level partners.
  • Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing projects / priorities.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (including general accounting concepts and systems expertise).
  • Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment.
  • Adept in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience using financial planning systems and tools. Specific experience using Hyperion Planning and Essbase preferred, but not required.
