The Technology organization at DICE consists of some of the industry’s most skilled engineers. To make sure they get the support they need, and to tap into their full potential, we are now looking for a Manager of Software Engineering to join the ranks of DICE Technology.

 

Together with the Technical Director (TD), you will lead a  team of about 25 software engineers. You will be accountable for driving people and process development efforts. You are embedded with your team. Close to the day to day work, you are focused on leading people and driving engineering efforts in the domain. The team of Technology Managers, led by the Craft Director, forms a strong group with shared goals for developing and maintaining the Studio’s teams and culture.

Responsibilities

 

  • People management  – support and coach individuals 1-to-1 in their day-to-day work, establish team and individual goals, objectives and development plans together with the TD.
  • As needed, you will be expected to initiate and drive projects within your team.
  • Communication – be the link between studio and craft management and the engineers through newsletters, Confluence, team meetings, etc.
  • Performance reviews and compensation management.
  • Staffing process, recruiting and onboarding.
  • Work environment management with support from HR.
  • Engaging with game teams and external partners. Staying informed and up-to-date with game project goals, status and team health.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience and understanding of software development is required.
  • Experience in game development is preferred.
  • Leadership experience and demonstrated leadership skills such as effective communication skills, a commitment to drive people development and coach employees.
