EA Player Network is an EA-wide Big Data initiative. Leveraging telemetry data generated through player interactions to gain insights for creating engaging products. Quality Verification is a central team that works with teams globally to ensure high data quality from all titles integrating with EA Player Network 

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead PIN Quality Verification team, part of the Quality Verification and Standards (QV&S) Organization;

The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering the PIN verification processes and practices and drive Data Quality initiative across QV&S Organization. The PIN QV team has team members at EA Vancouver and EA Romania locations and partners across Studios QV team, GAI, EADP. The Software Engineering Manager will partner with the PIN QV and QVS Leads as well as EA Internal stakeholders to review and refine requirements, then work with the PIN QV team to define and implement Process/tools changes which will result in a better Data Quality. Once the projects are defined, the person will lead the projects within PIN QV with different focuses: reporting, tracking, testing, and tool development

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

General

  • Form close partnership with PIN PM team to better track progress for multiple titles
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics organization to refine and expand data quality verification coverage
  • Work closely with EADP organizations to identify areas for further data quality improvements
  • Review and improve existing processes, introducing technology wherever possible
  • Engage with teams around the world to deliver projects with high data quality
  • Manage the PIN QV internal projects, schedule, and process for multiple simultaneous projects, including tasks, resources, quality, time, priorities, and costs
  • Identify and resolve risks to the PIN QV team deliverables
  • Work with the other team leads to constantly refine and improve our processes

Process Management

  • Manage Agile/Scrum mechanics and promote principles & values in conjunction with other team leads
  • Track team objectives and identify required actions
  • Create and distribute regular reports and updates on team’s activities
  • Drive quality standards for the PIN QV Internal deliverables
  • Drive the implementation plan which includes deliverables, schedule, priorities, and dependencies
  • Document tools and practices and participate actively in knowledge sharing processes. Share best practices and learn from other team members and peers

Relationship Management

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Working with the team's Technical Director to execute on technical strategy
  • Maintain strong team communication and collaboration across five geographical locations
  • Promote positive morale and a sense of team identity

Technical Support

  • Hands-on work related to the configuration and maintenance of our systems as required
  • Working with teams in multiple world-wide locations and PIN Stakeholders to identify ways to improve the Data Quality by focusing on Verification process and practices

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software engineering or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of software lifecycle, modern testing methods, design patterns, continuous integration, and Agile methodology
  • Knowledge in SQL, T-SQL, or Hive
  • Knowledge in JSON schema definition
  • Knowledge in Big Data technology: Hadoop, Spark, Cloud processing, … etc.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI data visualization application
  • Experience managing distributed teams
  • Experience developing sharable technology products such as SDKs or platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to run meetings involving core team as well as internal stakeholders 
  • Experience managing security escalations and concerns
