The Senior QA tester will take be leading the execution arm of the quality of the advertising in our games and will be overseeing the development and live test execution layers for this project.

The Challenge Ahead:


The Senior QA tester (Advertising Technology) within the Quality Verification organization will be overseeing and executing the test coverage on client and server releases. The role will have you working with testers and analysts on aligning and communicating with integration teams and marketing partners to resolve and understand the root cause of issues. The Senior tester will be able to demonstrate sound technical platform and area knowledge.

 

What a Senior QA tester does at EA:


As a Senior QA tester, your primary focus will be executing the critical test cases advertising within our games. Some of the tasks are but not limited test case updating, mentoring testers, investigative testing, requirements-based testing, Live verification and ad hoc testing. You will ensure test plans and best practices are shared across teams to improve their testing and processes. Part of your role will be imparting your knowledge onto other testers and mentoring them to improve their skillset. You’ll be an expert of your product and provide technical solutions to leaders.


You will also collaborate regularly with members of, Development QA, Global Brand Partnerships, Production and Development. You’ll be executing and updating detailed test plans and test suites and ensuring they are delivered efficiently. Additionally, you will be regularly recognizing and accurately setting the severity of issues, helping to prioritize issues in the bug database to expedite bug-fixing efforts. Key to the role is providing feedback on the effectiveness and efficiency of team processes and methodologies and working with onsite and offsite teams to help drive quality in our advertising platforms and campaigns.

 

Desired:

  • Advertising technology testing (Ad Platforms, Ad providers and Ad campaigns)
  • HD Experience (Consoles – XONE and PS4)
    • Familiarity with HD functionality
    • Understanding of how to load builds/packages
    • Knowledge of platform requirements
    • Ability to consistently capture content (capture card) and reproduce issues
  • Tools: Knowledge of JIRA and other Atlassian tools
  • Charles Proxy expertise or equivalent.
    • Understanding of how network traffic and Ad SDKs function
    • Ability to capture, read, and identify issues within a Charles Log
    • Familiarity with COPPA/GDPR (understanding what they are, and the importance/severity)
    • Ability to perform rewrites and then cross-check that information

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Mobile experience: QA testing or Engineering or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of file/build management per platform
    • Familiarity with various install methods and requirements per platform
    • Device functionality / Basic platform requirement knowledge
    • Understanding of how apps and APIs function
    • Able to capture and read verbose logs
    • Knowledge of file/build management per platform

    • Experience in geo-proxying/geo-spoofing
  • Ability to take ownership of the advertising project and meet responsibilities without supervision
  • A self-starter with high level of comfort & enjoyment in both team and individual settings
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify risks and escalate to applicable stakeholders
  • Strong observational and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong tracking and organizational skills
  • Passion to learn new technologies and systems with high degree of ownership
  • Ability to be flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks in fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Proficiency with Mobile platforms (Android and iOS)
  • Ability to identify root causes and propose viable solutions
  • Strong sense of urgency to mitigate risks and potential areas of concern proactively rather than reactively
