Position Title: QA Project Manager

External Description:

The Challenge Ahead: 

The Live QV Project Manager (LQVPM), will be responsible for supporting the Live QV team by coordinating the scheduling, planning and execution of Live strategies across multiple titles in the EA portfolio.

The candidate will require strong project management attributes and effective stakeholder management in order to be successful. The LQVPM will work directly with the Live QV Managers, Leads and Quality Designer to support the Live efforts across several projects and platforms.

What a Live QV Project Manager does at EA:

As a Live QV Project Manager, your primary focus will be to leverage resources from a multi-discipline team inclusive of Data Analysts, Quality Analysts and Project Leads, to ensure console, PC and mobile releases are successfully verified in the retail environment prior to release.

You will also be responsible for executing on the Live Quality Strategy to support End to End Verification of all components of the product on the retail environment and promote the player experience upstream to QV and Studio teams. Additionally, you will partner directly with QV Project Owners, Development QV teams, Test Centres, Certification, Operations and CE to evolve operations, review trends, and maximize resource load balancing and sharing initiatives and opportunities. Critically, the LQVPM will be the frontline QV component in proactively discussing and resolving player issues.

You will be a leader within the local studio, motivating and challenging your team to succeed. You will also be a mentor to your direct reports, guiding individual team members through their career development via regular and constructive feedback, and listening and acting on their concerns where appropriate.

  • Working knowledge of Jira with hands on experience in setting up projects and reports, including Gantt charts and dashboards.

The EA Live QV Project Manager also needs:

  • 5 years’ experience within the software industry
  • 3 years of managerial and people management experience (team management, mentoring).
  • Professional management training – PMP, PMI, MAM, MBA, etc.
  • Proven track record managing multi-disciplined projects and/or in QA management – Minimum 3 Years, Ideal – 5 years
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development processes for Gen4 and PC
  • Effective management of budgets across multiple projects
  • Organizational skills with experience of managing local and remote teams of 5+
  • Review and analyse actual versus planned on a monthly basis
  • An understanding of the games industry, especially as it relates to perception of quality for our games from the media, our consumers, and the public at large
