Position Title: Senior Principal Game Designer

External Description:

We are searching for an experienced Game Design Director to join our team

 As Game Design Director, you possess experience with all elements of mobile game development, from pre-production through live ops. You have experience with all areas of design, including gameplay, systems, and economy. You have an acute awareness of free to play mobile games and understand how design can maximize KPI’s while ensuring a focus on the player experience. You are a team-oriented individual who thrives in an innovative environment and someone who thrives on working with talented people on world class products. Experience working with distributed or remote teams is a major benefit.

 Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the core Creative Team to drive the creation and refinement of game designs.
  • Coordinate with Design Team members and leadership to help define scope, schedule design tasks and meet milestone demands.
  • Perform ongoing design to iterate on, improve, and build out the game design throughout the development process from early design to post release add-ons.
  • Work with all departments on the scheduling and integration of the game design, as well as game feature development goals and execution.
  • Lead, coordinate and participate in collaborative efforts to implement and balance gameplay features, based on the design.
  • Mentor and lead the design team to grow their skill sets and capabilities.

 Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years industry experience in the field of mobile game design.
  • A minimum of 2 shipped products as a Senior or Lead designer.
  • Experience designing game economies and tuning/balancing game systems
  • Shipped title experience with successful mobile titles
  • Excellent design skills and thorough understanding of game design theory.
  • Strong knowledge of retention, engagement, and monetization, and how to design across different genres to target players
  • A deep desire for delivering a high level of quality, with an awareness of what the prevailing standards of quality are in game design.
  • The ability to function well during high stress and high-pressure circumstances.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills, leading to a demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team structure
  • A demonstrated ability to make wise decisions regarding game design.
