Team

We are a small but high performing Quality Engineering team within EA that delivers high quality internal tools to support the quality verification and automation initiatives that pertain to EA's digital distribution and subscription products (including Origin and EA Access), as well as EA's Game Certification teams. Our team lives on the bleeding edge of web tech, working with technology like ReactJS, GraphQL, .NET Core, and Machine Learning. We are looking for a talented Front End Software Engineer to join our ranks to build user-friendly web interfaces for our tools that help our partner teams produce high quality products and services.

What you will do

  • Hands-on crafting of CSS, HTML, and JS
  • Work closely with Product Owners / Tech Leads throughout the design and development process
  • Be part of a ~4-8 person cross functional scrum team (team size varies by product)
  • Actively participate in project scoping, planning, design, and execution 
  • Gather feedback and requirements from our internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to building modular and performant web applications
  • Use your knowledge of software engineering concepts to design and implement tested, reusable, and modular code
  • Apply knowledge of the business goals to derive innovative solutions for the project, team, and group
  • Be an active learner who is up for expanding your breadth of knowledge 
  • Have passion for your craft. You feel ownership over everything you ship.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Strong technical and practical understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with JavaScript
  • 1+ years of experience with React (or 2+ years working with other modern JavaScript front end frameworks)
  • Solid understanding using front-end build tools such as Webpack, Rollup, Grunt, Gulp, Browserify, and npm scripts
  • Proficiency with CSS processors such as PostCSS, Sass, or Less
  • Experience with modern JavaScript libraries such as React, Redux, Apollo, AngularJS and Polymer
  • Familiarity with JavaScript front-end testing tools and methodologies
  • Experience working in a cross functional Scrum team
  • Experience using Git and related tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc
  • Experience using modern JavaScript (ES2015+)
  • Experience with front-end performance topics / rendering internals
  • Experience delivering feature-level technical design and documentation

 

Bonus Skills and Experience

  • Experience building APIs and writing back end code (NodeJS, .NET, Java, etc)
  • Experience mentoring peers, and delivering technical presentations
  • Experience with Typescript
  • Experience building Web Components
  • Experience with UI / UX
  • Experience with GraphQL
