Reports to: VP, Competitive Gaming Division [CGD] Operations

Location: Redwood Shores, CA


As a senior operational leader in the Competitive Gaming Division [CGD] you will lead operational activities and projects focused on delivering the next evolution of the CGD’s strategy, supporting franchises across the CGD and leading the engagement process and partnership with the key development team and cross-functional partners.

 

As a CGD operational leader you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the CGD VP of Operations and CG Teams to operationalize key strategies
  • Leading activities to effectively partner with key development teams, including but not limited to, processes related to: aligning on feature roadmaps, gathering resource and budget requirements, assessing the status of deliverables and validating delivery against defined milestones leveraging appropriate frameworks of respective teams
  • Creation of end to end event milestones and detailed execution plans for major initiatives (i.e., CG2.0)
  • Driving status updates across teams for defined initiatives
  • Performing project assessments at regular intervals  
  • Improving processes to optimize how CGD works with key internal and external partners as appropriate in support of major initiatives; defining appropriate engagement models in partnership with key cross-functional teams
  • Tracking KPIs and defining appropriate executional KPIs for major initiatives (i.e., CG 2.0)
  • Evaluating key metrics (operational and business), implementing action plans with CG Franchise leadership and tracking progress against.

 



Major Initiative Related:

  • Drive operational execution planning across all phases of major initiatives defining project plans and deliverables, tracking deliverables, change requests, identifying risks and defining mitigation plans
  • Report status of major initiatives at regular intervals, escalate urgent issues in a timely manner
  • Partner with FIFA CG functional leads to deliver detailed execution plans and partner with leads to ensure all plans have critical failure points identified and related mitigation and contingency plans defined
  • Anticipate bottlenecks and risks, provide management escalation, partner with the Commissioner to prioritizes, identify trade-offs to de-risk while working to maintain project timelines and objectives
  • Hold the team accountable to milestones and deliverables
  • Solve problems, balance priorities, and find creative solutions that achieve results
  • Help the team focus on the critical few: filter issues based on a clear understanding of strategies and objectives; help the team break down complex problems

 

 

 

 Partnership with Development Teams

  • Partner with development teams and Director of Product Management to drive feature roadmap
  • Partner with the Product Director in identifying right features on the CG roadmap
  • Share CGD product features and updates on product with the extended CG team
  • Partner with the analytics team to articulate the value of implementing product features and benefits (key performance identifiers) that are influenced after execution working with the Esports Product Director
  • Communicate feature and platform development plans with the broader CGD team
  • Understand changes in product specs and share updates with the extended CG team

Team-related

  • Share with and implement best practices, processes, and standards as needed
  • Provide program management / operational leadership for initiatives / projects
  • Work across CGD teams to drive coordination of activities for major initiatives (CG2.0)

 

 

Business / Partnerships

  • Build business partnerships with cross functional teams and external partners as appropriate in support of major initiatives; proactively sharing updates and status as appropriate
  • Create and drive appropriate business reporting for key initiatives

 

 

Key experiences / capabilities

  • 10-15+ years experience in mid-level to senior operations roles
  • Strong understanding of game development process – Console/PC
  • In-depth knowledge of program management and business operations
  • Strong business acumen; experience evaluating performance metrics and implementing action plans
  • Can lead large cross-functional strategic initiatives autonomously
  • Capability to communicate with business partners at the Exec level
  • Proven ability to influence across teams to deliver results collaboratively
  • Excellent presentation skills
