EA India office is one of the largest R&D & Corporate Services office based in Hyderabad. We operate a mobile studio responsible for some of our popular mobile games on iOS & Android; QA Engineering for EA Digital Platform (EADP), HD Consoles, Online and Free to Play casual games. Corporate operates shared services for IT that provides networks & applications support and Finance provides procure to pay, accounts receivable, general ledger & digital revenue accounting, procurement, payroll services and FP&A.

Role Overview

Finance plays a pivotal role managing the company’s financial performance. Hyderabad FP&A is part of a Global Finance organization and supports the Global FP&A team with current team strength of 29 members including managers. The Global FP&A teams have overall responsibility for Business Unit P&Ls, and drive financial reporting, metrics, dashboards, performance indicators vs fiscal plan and long range strategic plans/targets. They are accountable for ensuring EA’s key financial controls, processes and policies are always followed  through working directly with business counterparts. The teams are also responsible for the coordination, consolidation, reporting and analysis of EA’s overall forecast process. The Corporate FP&A team partners with executive management and finance teams to consolidate and analyze results, while driving standardization and performance across the organization.

Key Objectives of the Role

  • Alongside Director and Finance Managers, lead a large group that provides FP&A related services with focus on partnership and collaboration between Hyderabad and onshore teams.
  • Collaborate with FP&A counterparts to set direction, develop and own initiatives to standardize and consolidate reporting & financial processes with the aim to improve productivity & quality, eliminate duplication and encourage best practice sharing.
  • Overall accountability for consistency of FP&A reports and processes emerging from Hyderabad, including, but not limited to: fiscal year planning, quarterly estimates and month end. Challenge status quo and influence the usage of standardized reports & processes.
  • This role requires deep understanding of financial processes and how they are adopted across different parts of the business.
  • Identify key themes to improve people engagement and contribution towards individual and team goals and objectives. Drive initiatives to achieve the core EA value of ‘One Team’.
  • Manage, mentor and develop people to help them learn and grow to their full potential. Conduct joint quarterly performance reviews for direct reports
  • Ensuring that periodic review calls happen with stakeholders – things that went well and areas of improvement.
  • Responsible for strategic oversight of select projects, process improvements and operational initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead team(s) responsible for forecasting, tracking, analyzing and reporting financial metrics; work with accounting to ensure proper allocation of expenses, prepare and review adjustment journals, report accruals, actuals against forecast variance analysis and provide commentary, keeping a pulse on where the business is tracking and identifying trends as well as emerging risks and opportunities and flag as necessary.
  • Support team(s) to develop effective business relationships throughout the greater finance organization (FP&A, Accounting) in order to successfully collaborate and provide key deliverables.
  • Along with managers, proactively manage the fiscal calendar and scheduled activities e.g. monthly close process to ensure accurate results and timely close
  • Drive and assist team(s) in delivering efficient, timely and insightful reporting to assist business with decision making.
  • Own and manage various meetings, forums and focus groups to share best practices across groups in collaboration with key FP&A counterparts.
  • Perform assessment of team member’s strengths, area of development, opportunities to add work, risks. Engage counterparts to formulate plans to enhance work delivered by the team.

Technical Skills & Requirements

  • MBA Finance from reputed B-School
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience (FP&A and Accounting experience preferred) and 10 years in a supervisory role. US MNC, Product Development or Digital Business experience highly desirable.
  • Strong command of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow.
  • Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with executive-level partners.
  • Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing projects / priorities.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (including general accounting concepts and systems expertise).
  • Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment.
  • Adept in MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience using financial planning systems and tools. Specific experience using Hyperion Planning and Essbase preferred.
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours given the global coverage of this role.
