EA Localization team are accountable for delivering the high-quality Localized versions of EA games. You will work on a wide variety of tools and systems used for the localization of games, web titles, marketing materials, etc. Those systems will have modules for Business & Project Management, workflow automation, CRM, Text, Audio, Image and video asset management and distribution of those assets to/from our vendors and external partners.

The Opportunity Ahead:

As Localization Data Manager you will lead the EA Localization Data team based in Madrid. The purpose of the role is to manage a small team of analyst and data engineers focusing in player and operational data of the localization gaming industry.

You will provide guidance and expertise to a team that will be created from scratch as well as setting up the standards of data management within our business.

The challenge ahead is to create a culture of data driven decisions within the different localization bussiness units.

                                               

 

What the Localization Data Manager does at EA:

 

  • Leads the data team: train, guide, supervise, recruit.
  • Creates a culture of data driven decisions in Player data and operational data.
  • Lead and supervise the creation of a data framework and infrastructure in Localization.
  • Sets up the standards for data usage in Localization.
  • Engages in communication with internal and external partners within EA.
  • Becomes part of the EA Data community and represent Localization.

 


 

Our next Localization data Manager needs:

Experience: 5 to 8 years of validated Industry experience

 

Bussiness Requierements:

 

  •  Proactively proposes new or additional analysis to be undertaken
  •  Provides assistance to other members of the group for them to understand and document requirements.
  •  Clearly captures and documents business requirements.
  •  Disambiguates unclear business problems and requirements and frame them in an actionable way.
  •  In-depth understanding of the service/game features and functionality as it relates to analytic business requirements.

 

Data Requierements:

 

  • Highly competent in translating business requirements to data and analysis requirements.
  • Leverages knowledge of EA systems (within/outside of domain) to solution unique data requirements
  • Expert at using database techniques to query/mine databases & join/union data.
  • Thinks through, proposes and executes on supporting technology to scale repetitive processes and eliminate manual tasks.
  • Guides and mentors other members of EA for cleaning and preparation of data for analytical models, data mining and analysis.

 

Anaylsis and Reporting:

 

  •  Influences peers and cross-functional stakeholders to align on analytical needs.
  •  Guides junior analysts to execute the right analysis, reporting and conclusions.
  •  Decides when it is appropriate to automate tactical analysis and reports.
  •  Verbally articulates insights and conclusions in a convincing manner
  •  Cleans and harmonizes complex data sets.
  •  Employs advanced databasing techniques to query/mine databases, and perform join/union data.
  •  Frames complex analysis in the context of business drivers, and derives a clear conclusion that is formed with corroborating data.
  •  Understands and uses a wide-range on advanced analysis methodologies and techniques to process data.

 

Bussiness domain knowledge

 

  • Works with development and marketing partners to connect analytics domain knowledge with their specific business needs.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of the video game industry. Stays current on video game knowledge through industry and EA news.
  • Actively grows analytics knowledge via a combination of industry related communities, websites, magazines, whitepapers, conferences, etc.

 

 

Technical/tool of proficiency

 

  • Researches and advises on what tools and methodologies to use for solving specific issues.
  • Thinks through how to scale tool use cases and how to scale implementation across teams at EA.
  • Manages multiple tasks through automation and scheduling of jobs.
  • Competent in programming in different scripting, query or programming languages to analyze data.

 

Think players first

 

  • Works with the business to identify player first data and metrics to collect and focus on - uses this to gain deeper insight on player behaviors and motivations.

 

Presenting capabilities:

 

  • Provides guidance to junior analysts on improving their presentations, reports and conclusions.
  • Presents analytical material to larger groups of colleagues and clients they are working with.

 

Project management:

 

  • Collaborates with leadership on team to establish the project goals including scope definition, quality targets and timeframe.
  • Defines the scope of projects and identify various work components of the project; works with team members to determine estimates and scope.
  • Builds and tracks day-to-day schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Defines project deliverables, timeline and clear ETA's.
  • Able to define the scope of a medium complexity analysis project and identify various work components of the analysis project.

 

Problem Solving:

 

  • Proactively sets processes/develops an environment to ensure that problems are quickly identified and are tracked through resolution.
  • Shares specific problems and solutions applied along with best practices and approaches with peers and analyst community.
  • Leverages peers and partners to learn and understand different solutions and best practices applied by those teams under similar situations.
  • Allocates/assigns analysts to solve problems based on their expertise and strengths.
  • Establishes processes to avoid problems in specific scenarios based on experiences and learning from past projects.

 

Collaboration

  • Identifies and leads large analytically focused collaborative efforts both inside and outside of their own group/team.
  • Identifies and effectively leverages experts inside EA to collaborate with on projects and initiatives.

 

 

People Management:

 

  • Hiring/Onboarding, mentorship, knowledge transfer, does performance/talent management and career development of direct reports.
