Role Overview

I. Basic Function

Located at EA’s global headquarters, this Finance Manager II role reports into the Senior Finance Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.  The role will provide a unique opportunity to be a collaborative business partner with comprehensive financial & portfolio oversight across the entire EA Studios (EAS) organization.

II. Responsibilities and Duties

  • EAS Financial & Strategic Business Partnership
    • Own “rhythm of the business” activities, including consolidated EAS financial close, planning / forecasting & management reporting. Facilitate timely execution of these processes, and drive completeness & accuracy across all studio organizations.
    • Serve as chief communication partner to the EAS FP&A organization, providing recurring guidance & instruction around key activities & requests.
    • Partner with Studio Finance leaders to deliver financial targets, managing on-going risks & opportunities.
    • Provide dotted-line supervision & mentorship to off-shore team members to drive efficiencies & team development.
    • Prepare regular financial updates to Chief Studios Officer & EAS leadership team (including performance measurement, forecast updates & other insights).
  • Portfolio Planning & Management
    • Partner with EAS & Finance leadership to deliver monthly title plan lock & publication, evaluating regular changes to timing, platform, business model, etc.
    • Design & manage evolving 5-Year, long-range model (including title plan & financial scenario modeling). Evaluate long-range portfolio planning scenarios in relation to long-range Total Company P&L targets.
    • Oversee New IP / Investment process for EAS organization. Evaluate the funding requirements for incubation projects in-development.  Partner with leadership to prioritize & execute within financial plan.
  • EAS Resource Management
    • Partner with People Experience organization to provide comprehensive resource oversight for EAS organization.
    • Engage with Finance & People Experience partners throughout the planning & forecasting process to understand resource demands & forecast assumptions by studio – challenging assumptions, where necessary, & identifying risks & opportunities.
    • Evaluate broader resourcing strategy with respect to title plan, location, employee / outsourcing mix, etc. Provide insights & recommendations that help influence our future resource & location strategy.

III. Technical Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Finance / Economics / Accounting related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of related financial experience (FP&A experience preferred).
  • Extensive experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis.
  • Demonstrated top performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
  • Exceptionally strong results orientation & bias to action.  Healthy impatience for change.  Willingness to ask the tough questions & challenge the status quo.  Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative, flexibility, maturity under pressure & anticipates and resolves problems before they develop.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills that enable clear & concise communication to all levels of the organization.  Strong sense of visual communication to help executive partners digest complex information in an accessible manner.
  • Confidentiality & integrity in dealing with highly sensitive information. Strong reputation for professional integrity, seasoned business judgment & objectivity.
  • Experience & proficiency with financial programs like Hyperion Essbase & Oracle.
