Position Title: Manager I, Accounting (IC)

External Description:

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Sr. Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting. The Technical Accounting Manager will perform an integral role on the team responsible for establishing accounting policies and interpreting accounting guidance. Looking for a team player who is self-motivated, well-organized and who can work independently while also collaborating with various teams across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish company-wide and North American local accounting policies
    • Identify policies that need to be drafted
    • Draft policies and coordinate the policy review and approval process
    • Liaise with international and cross-functional business partners in the drafting and review process
    • Manage and organize policy inventory
  • Conduct accounting policy and U.S. GAAP training sessions; consult with business partners regarding policy interpretation and application
  • Perform technical research on accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners
  • Lead the implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards, including assessing the impact on EA’s financial statements and accounting policies, and working with various cross-functional stakeholders
  • Draft and maintain accounting memos and liaise with senior management and external auditors
  • Provide guidance and coordinate approval reviews for Internal-Use Software projects
  • Review and provide accounting conclusions for various contracts including lease agreements
  • Assist in or lead special projects
  • Assist in the SEC reporting and other filing processes as necessary

Qualifications:

Required

  • CPA certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Combined public accounting and industry experiences are preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience from a Big 4 firm
  • Demonstrated experience in U.S. GAAP technical accounting research and drafting accounting memos
  • Must possess strong analytical, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Organized and thorough attention to detail with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred

  • Experience with Accounting for Internal-Use Software and Lease Accounting
