DICE is also home of the Frostbite Engine, Star Wars: Battlefront II, as well as being the creators of Mirror’s Edge. 



The challenge ahead 


DICE Operations creates the underlying backend services that power DICEs modern video games. The ever-changing, ever-growing ecosystem exposes new operational challenges with each new game launched. We are looking for a passionate site reliability engineer to work in the Service Quality team at DICE Operations. The purpose of the Service Quality team is to ensure that online functionality in DICEs games are improving reliability and running efficiently.


What you will do as a Site Reliability Engineer at DICE Operations:

As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be part of the team that is responsible for the design of the system architecture, server infrastructure management and long term improvements. You will provide the technical expertise required to deliver high-quality, timely solutions and services for our players to have the best possible online experience. You will be part of a tight-knit team in a fast-paced organization. We regularly work with teams spread across the globe. Excellent written and spoken English is required. 



Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver highly reliable, scalable, and operable solutions to complex operations engineering problems.
  • Implement built, bought, or shared technology solutions, like Kubernetes and Datadog monitoring.
  • Operate our services, manage configuration, run deployments, tune performance, and provide 24 hours on-call support on a rotating schedule. 

    The next great Site Reliability Engineer also needs: 

  •  Experience operating highly available solutions at scale with security and performance
  • Experience in programming/scripting languages (Preferred: Go and/or Python)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with TCP/IP, routing, VLANS, AWS Direct Connect, DNS, VPN and other networking concepts
