IT Service Specialist II

1. General Role description

IT Service Specialist II is responsible for first & second line support including ownership of projects within these areas at the local sites
Primary work task includes the day to day support with end users and other routine work that needs to be done on a daily basis at the local sites, this position has a high focus to VIP users based in Singapore
IT Service Specialist II need to be able to communicate and collaborate within the team, with the end users and the global IT team. It is important to be able to understand their part in the big picture at the local sites.
As part of supporting the users this includes proactive measures at all times, problem solving, implementation of new hardware / software, testing solutions and documenting areas of responsibility.

1.1 Work task examples

  • Prioritize helpdesk tickets, email etc.
  • Desktop / Laptop support for end user
    - Software /hardware
  • Infrastructure support
    - Server Software / Hardware
    - Network Software / Hardware
  • Monthly Patching process is followed
    - Desktop /Laptops / Infrastructure
  • On / Off boarding of users
    - Create / Inactivate user accounts
    - Permissions
    - Manage security badges etc.
  • Make sure server backup is followed
    - Daily capture backup logs and action
    - Managing offsite storage etc.
  • Make sure conference rooms and other areas are up to date and functioning as expected
  • Take action on different security / server alarms etc
  • Asset management
    - Hardware / Software
  • Purchasing
  • Update documentation within resp. areas regularly
