Web Applications /Tools Developer Intern, Business Operations

We are looking to hire an Intern to support the design, development and integration of our internal web applications/tools. This internship is open to currently 3rd year enrolled undergraduate and 2nd year graduate students (by Summer 2019) attending accredited universities with a concentration in technology or software development.

The Challenge Ahead

You will be responsible for projects involving the implementation, improvement and maintenance of stable, high quality web-based internal tools for EA’s Technical Operations Department. An ideal candidate will be comfortable developing, testing and troubleshooting and integrating existing web applications tools.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Experience with UX/UI design
  • Work with other team members to develop, implement and improve web pages and tools used by the business
  • Ability to help troubleshoot issues the team encounters locally as well as with the tools themselves in a patient and understanding manner
  • Document and maintain the web pages and tools
  • Design and update the databases which are used to store the data on the backend.
  • Iterate, design, and implement improvements to live systems and workflows
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and optimize them. 
  • Learn additional programming languages or tools as needed. Python, PHP, SQL, GIT, JavaScript, JQuery •
  • Work with Apache and the Linux OS to support web pages and databases
  • Ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to develop a plan, adjust the plan as needed and track to the plan • Ability to collect and interpret requirements Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a US accredited degree program
  • Software Programming classes completed
  • Experience developing web pages
  • Worked with HTML
  • Able to query and design relational databases
  • Senior standing by Summer 2019
